It wasn’t a failure. People would call it a failure, but I don’t. No, I call it an opportunity to grow. I call it a second chance. I now have the potential to work my way back up to that pedestal. I thought that I’d be a bit more broken hearted, but no, instead I look at this moment as a chance to better myself. Many people would think of a moment as a missed opportunity, but that’s never the case. It’s just a matter of when I get my second shot.
However, I can also understand that people could be looking down at me for Brody Adams leaving. He was my Multiplayer partner, and he left. I wouldn’t be shocked if people blamed me for his leaving, but I was respecting his wishes. He wanted to go solo for a bit, and I let him do so. I wanted him to succeed. I wanted him to be at the top of the mountain, but something may have snapped. Something may have caused him to leave, and I don’t know what that was. All I know is that I want him to be successful wherever he goes next.
Ultimately, my current path is clear. I know what’s in front of me, and I know what needs to be done. But, I need to make sure I can do what is necessary. I need to be sure that the job can be done. Many people have tried but failed to get it done. I can’t fail. For the people that preceded me, I can’t fail. If I do, that’ll be another thing my enemies will hold over me. I can’t let that happen. They’ve been terrorizing Level Up for too long, and it’s time for someone to put them in their place. I’ll be the first, and people will follow.

Eli Goode waits in the park looking at the many people walking through the park. He waves at the people passing by him and, at certain moments, signs autographs for people that ask. After a few minutes, he sees Katie and Will walk up to him. He smiles and hugs Katie. He gives Will a high five and the three walk to the playground area of the park. The three play around and enjoy their time there. After a few more minutes, Lacy and her kids join in, and the big family enjoy their time together.
A few minutes pass and Eli sits on a bench watching the family having a good time. Katie walks over to him and sits down next to him. He places his arm around her and the two watch Will playing with Lacy and her kids. Eli smiles and rubs Katie’s shoulder.
“This is the great life.”
“It is, but I’m shocked you’re not sulking about your lose. You usually cut yourself off from everyone.”
“I told myself I wasn’t going to do that anymore. I don’t have the luxury of hiding myself in my sadness. No, I need to be here for my family, and I can’t do that if I’m alone in my room sulking the entire time. No, I’ve decided to make changes in my life, and that was the first one. That’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m with you.”
He kisses her on the head as she rests her head on his shoulder. They cuddle closer to each other and enjoy their embrace. Lacy looks over to them and smiles. She walks over to them and chuckles.
“Hey, Katie, I’m tagging you in. You can play with the kids now.”
Katie chuckles and kisses Eli on the cheek. She stands up and runs over to the kids. Lacy stis next to Eli and looks at the kids with him. She looks over at him and smiles.
“So, you and Katie have gotten a bit closer to each other.”
“Well, I finally opened up to her. Ever since then, we’ve been… I don’t know. We’ve just been able to make it work. We’ve worked through the hard times, and now we’re in a good place. I don’t know what else to say. After opening up, I’ve been able to be myself.”
“I see. You know, this is the happiest I’ve seen you in a while. Just make sure you don’t mess it up. All it takes is a few words, a few forgotten birthdays, and a few missed events… That could ruin everything.”
“You really do only think about the worst case scenario don’t you?”
“Someone has to. Look, I will always care about you Eli, but I don’t want you to ruin this. I don’t want you to ruin her life. I know it’ll hurt you, but I don’t want you to hurt her. I know you’re a big time wrestler, but if you break her heart, I’m going to make you relive our time as kids.”
Eli laughs and looks over at Lacy. He pats her shoulder and looks back at Katie.
“Lacy, I can guarantee you I’m not going to do any of that. She’s the best thing to happen to me, and I don’t want to ruin that. Without her, I don’t know where I’d be right now. She’s the reason I want to be a better person. She’s the reason why I’m not sulking right now. Her and Will have been helping me, and I… I wouldn’t be where I am without her. She…”
“Ok Eli, she makes you happy. I just wanted to make sure. I hope you don’t forget that. Never forget that.”
Lacy stands up and walks back over to the kids. She starts playing with them as Katie walks back over to Eli. She sits next to him and looks at him with a confused look.
“What was that all about?”
“She was just checking in on us, and I let her know that we’re doing great.”
She wraps her hand into his and smiles at him.
“You’re damn right we’re doing great. Because we’re simply… that damn good.”
Eli laughs and the two share a kiss.

“We’re back to a similar spot. In fact, the last time you saw me, I was preparing for a different title match. I was getting ready for my Final Boss Championship match, and that didn’t turn out the way I wanted. In fact, any other time, I would’ve been beating myself up for not winning, but this time, this time I’m taking it as a learning experience. You see, for many years, people have tried to hold failures against me. They’ve been trying to tell me for years that I’m not worth it, but losing the Final Boss Championship match is helping me look at life differently. It’s helping me look at the best things in my life. My family, my girlfriend, everything that has helped me get to this moment. I’m lucky to get to where I am now.
And now, I have another opportunity. After giving up the Multiplayer Championships, I was given an opportunity, by Trent Steel, to fight for another championship. A championship that doesn’t have a respectful champion. This championship is being held by someone that doesn’t meet the standards of what the championship is supposed to be. Soon, I’m going to be facing off against E.A. Blizzard one-on-one for the Courage Championship.
It’s funny. When I first joined Level Up, I told myself that if I didn’t win the Final Boss Championship first I wanted to win the Courage Championship. It’s mainly for two reasons. One, it’s a championship dedicated to high-flyers, and I’ve been flying high for years. Two, it’s green and my favorite color is green. I know the last reason is only for aesthetics, but you can’t blame me for wanting a championship belt that’s my favorite color.
All that out of the way though, EAB isn’t what you’d call a high-flier. In fact, he’s the complete opposite of a high-flier. EAB, this is another match that you and I are having. You and Larry are sort of my recurring opponents. EAB, when we first fought off against each other, you were able to prove you were the better man. The next time we fought in the Briefcase-on-a-Pole match, I was the better man. Now, for the title, one of us has to leave with the title.
I already know that you’re planning something with Larry to keep the title in the Game Changers, but I’m going to be the first to take the titles away from your team. EAB, your team has been trying to take over this company, and Trent has been able to put a stop to it, but I know how you two are. You both are going to find a way around him. That’s why some of your power has to be taken away. That’s why Trent put me in this match.
EAB, I’m never going to deny that you’re a great competitor. You’ve proven it time and time again. You’ve proven that you can hold your own against everyone, but it’s finally time to shut your damn mouth up. It’s time for someone to take the Courage Championship away from you. You being the Courage Champion has been a disrespect to the title you hold. Finally, after months of you holding the title, I’m going to be the one that puts you in your place.
The Courage Championship has been a title that I’ve wanted to hold onto for a while now. Last year, I had a chance, but I was never able to get the chance to hold it. But at Super Adventure Island, I’m going to be taking that title away from you. I’m going to bring respect back to the Courage Championship. I’m going to finally be the one to exemplify what it means to be the Courage Champion, but not only that, I’m going to carry the title all the way to TriForce Heroes and win the TriForce Championship.
EAB, though I’ve tried to find ways to respect you, you can never be respected. As long as you’re with the Game Changers, you’ll always be showing that nothing but a worthless piece of shit. Again, I know you’re going to fight dirty, and if that means I have to fight dirty, I’ll fight dirty. You don’t realize it, but just because I’m more of a good guy, that doesn’t mean I can’t fight dirty.
EAB, I was trained to win by whatever means necessary. If I have to use a weapon to beat you, I’ll do it. I’m not afraid to go to the dark side to beat you and the Game Changers.
Look, I can go on and on about what I want or will do to you, but that would be boring. At the end of the day, all that matters is me beating you one, two, three. That’s exactly what I’m going to do to you. I’m going to hit you with Goode Bye, and I’m going to beat you with one, two, three. So EAB, you’re not walking out of Super Adventure Island as the Courage Champion. I’m going to be walking out as the champion because I’m simply… That Damn Goode.”
