As of Super Adventure Island, 68 different characters have competed in a Level Up ring.
About these rankings:
* These are all based on numbers and in-ring results as they are written in the shows. Being in a multi-way bout but not actually being defeated counts better than being the one defeated to end the match, for instance. In the same vein, being the non-legal participant in the losing side of a tag bout doesn’t hurt as much as being the one taking the fall in the same match. (The inverse is true for winners—the one earning the decision gets a better score than their partners.)
* To emphasize the above, **PERSONAL BIAS DOES NOT EXIST IN THESE FIGURES—PNLY RESULTS AS PRESENTED IN THE SHOW WRITEUPS.**
* Winning and losing streaks are taken into account, with numbers snowballing as the streak grows (to a maximum of 10 decisions in a row, or 4.50 points).
* A lower ranked wrestler “upsetting” a higher ranked one has a better points formula to emulate how big a win that is for them.
* Main events, title bouts, and PPV matches each have a different (and cumulative) weight added to individual match scores.
* The Last of Us match has its own unique scoring system based on entrance order vs. elimination order, and number of eliminations made in the match.
* Characters who were on the roster as of Final Fantasy Night 2, and remained on the roster to start year 2, were “seeded” based off of their “unofficial” rankings from Year 1.
* Unlike Year 1, new characters debut at the bottom of the rankings, not at 0 points and thus somewhere around 25th as of the time of this post. So some of you newer folks will be lower than expected given your performances so far. Blame the math.
* For the purposes of this unofficial tally, the Nocturne Collective is treated as a single individual. The version I’m chipping away at in my spare time for a cumulative total over the entire time LUW has been open has the Collective as a single and as individuals just to make myself that much more insane.
* I am typing this manually on my phone from work, so nothing as fancy as what I managed back in the winter.
The following post will have the active roster listed from worst to first, with rank, point total, and record in the format of Wins-Losses-Draws/No Decisions/No Contests.
