Many expected the tandem of Chelsea Skye and Peter Vaughn to lose to Mac Bane and Paul Freedom at the last episode of EXP but it wasn’t to be as Peter scored the win for Chelsea’s team, however Chelsea’s win would end up being tainted as Peter would cheat to win the match on Chelsea’s behalf.
Whether or not that irked Chelsea who has famously never once cheated to win in her young career remained to be seen but Chelsea had bigger problems right now, she was set to compete at Triforce Hereos having earned a possible shot at the Courage Championship by finishing in the Final Five of the Extra Lives Battle Royal! She just needed to get past Paul Montuorri to get that title shot! Chelsea has been chasing her third ever title for most of the year having that chance yanked from her hands time and time again, can she get the shot at the Courage Championship? And can she close out the year as champion?

Lately I haven’t been able to find time to sit back and relax.
Between Liz finding excuses to have me babysit Nattie and Jason and me having to fit those two kids around my busy schedule (don’t get me wrong, I love Nattie but having to look after my autistic niece and her younger brother is just reaffirming the fact that motherhood isn’t for me!), not to mention filming porn and rehearsing for upcoming Krawling Khaos shows means that I am probably going to just crash over the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Thankfully tonight was the rare exception, Liz and managed to get Chloe to look after her kids when she and Mike had to rearrange their planned dinner date so my band’s treating me to one of the best metal bars in Chicago.
It certainly helped that Krawling Khaos had played at Reggie’s a few times since the band formed and well, the food was good too so right now, I was a happy metal chick!
Wish I could say the same for my Level Up career! Sure, me and Peter got the win over Mac and Paul at EXP 32 but only after Peter cheated to get the win! Look, I’m probably one of the biggest sore losers in modern wrestling but if there’s one thing I hate more than losing, it’s winning because someone on my side felt the need to cheat on my behalf! I didn’t cheat when I was a gymnast with dreams of competing in the Olympics and trust me, if I did achieve that dream and someone else on Team USA was caught using a performance enhancing drug or some shit, most of the broadcast would’ve had to be censored because of all the new swear words I would’ve invented in the span of five minutes!
Oh who am I kidding? Five seconds is more realistic! But I guess the silver lining is the fact that I now have momentum going into the match for a shot at the Courage Championship against Paul Montuorri!
“Something on your mind Chelsea?” Taylor asked as she walked up to me and I glanced over at my guitar teacher, Julian and Trent were off playing pool in the corner (and judging from the laughter from the two guys in Krawling Khaos, playing the game badly! I’ve never seen the appeal of pool so I couldn’t tell you one way or the other), whilst Sarah was off looking at the menu. “You’ve been sitting at the bar since we got here, you managed to spend more time with the bartender than Sarah!”
”You don’t hear Abbie complaining!” I responded with a grin as I motioned to the bartender who looked up and grinned at her name being mentioned, I wasn’t complaining about that either because Abbie was a cute chick who had turned twenty-two last week! Still single too but I had my doubts that that would last long. ”Speaking off, Abbie, can I get a rum and cola please?”
“Coming right up Chelsea!” Abbie responded as the red head started preparing my ordered drink, whilst I waited I turned my attention back to Taylor.
”Truth is, I’ve been wishing that I had called out Peter Vaughn for cheating to win our tag match at EXP 32, just haven’t been able to vent about it because I’ve been busy hyping Youngblood for EWC!” I responded with a sigh as Abbie finished preparing my drink and I gave her the cash for it with a little bit extra for the tip. ”I know I said that a surprise victory was coming but I would’ve preferred a clean surprise victory!”
“Eh, you know as well as I do that sometimes, you just gotta take wins in wrestling where you can! Especially against someone like Mac!” Taylor responded as I took a sip from my drink. “At least try to lighten up, this is the first time you’ve had a chance to relax all week!”
”Maybe you’re right.” I responded before the topic shifted in another direction, around the time that Julian and Trent’s latest game of pool ended (again, don’t know the rules but Trent had won that round) Taylor had excused herself to go to the bathroom and Abbie was getting help from another bartender as the bar was starting to get busier, it was at that moment that I took a sip from my drink (a different rum and cola) that……..well, I’ll let the scene speak for itself.
“Hey baby!” If I could my eyes any harder I would but because I was an attractive woman alone at the bar and Sarah was off at a booth some drunk guy had decided to try his luck on me, I had my engagement ring on which was usually enough to tell anyone that I was off limits but that wasn’t needed tonight, why? “I’m here to tell you that size doesn’t matter!”
The remainder of my drink nearly ended up all over the bar and Abbie and the other bartender momentarily lost their professionalism to laugh at the poor guy’s expense, I didn’t even get a good look at the poor idiot because he had apparently realized what he had said seconds after saying it because he left the bar immediately. ”Do you guys keep a tally of the bad pick-up lines you hear? Because that’s gotta be a new low!”
“No, but we will be telling the rest of the bar staff about that poor guy.2 Abbie responded with a laugh as she shook her head. “I don’t even care if we lose a customer over this, that’s the kind of lie girls tell their boyfriends to make them feel better! Not a pick-up line!”
”Maybe he saw a petite hot chick at the bar and decided to be clever about it? Not that he ever had a chance.” I responded with a shrug before I held up my hand that had the engagement ring on it. ”Either way, I’ll be tweeting about it once my hangover wears off tomorrow!”
“I’ll let you know how the others react!” Abbie responded with a grin before the night continued as normal.

What do you expect me to say?
”And then I used a cheat code! Yep, that’s how I won my last Level Up match! To say that I’m not exactly thrilled to have won a match that way is like saying that the Saw franchises’ plots are just a little bit complicated!” I commented as I shook my head with a frown on my face. ”What can I say? It’s the spooky season and I’ve been playing Horror movies all week, but Christmas Day for Goths isn’t the only thing on my mind thus week because that tag match happened to be my last one in Level Up, before I went on to challenge for the Courage Championship that i!”
Sorry.
”Wonder how the bosses reacted to that little scare I just gave them? Whatever, at Triforce Heroes I’ll make good on my finishing place in the Extra Lives Battle Royal by beating Paul Montuorri and earning that shot at the Courage Championship!” I commented with a grin as I looked at my nails playfully. ”And before you know it? I’ll be closing out 2022 the same way I closes out 2021, with championship gold around my waist! I refuse to spend the last two months as a twenty-three-year-old woman without a championship belt to call my own and if I can give myself a title as an early birthday present? I will!”
Paul won’t know what hit him.
”And just so we’re clear, my twenty fourth birthday is on the 5th of December so yeah, by the time Triforce Hereos rolls around I’ll have just under a month to achieve that goal, whilst also dealing with the anniversary of my twin brother’s death, yeah this time of year SUCKS for me but if I can at least win a title before then then it’ll be a perfect end to the year!” I stated with an annoyed sigh as I rolled my arms. ”I know Paul’s a tough customer but I’m a toughie myself and he would be an idiot.”
And that’s being kind.
”Wouldn’t be the first time some idiot’s underestimated me in my wrestling career! Sure, I’ve only been wrestling for a few years now but I get the attention of promotions like Level Up and EWC because of my natural talent, they just deal with all the baggage after the fact and Paul? You’re about to feel the full force of my natural talent as I earn this title shot!” I added with a grin as I glanced around the room. ”Sure the home dungeon’s become my promo dungeon and base of operations in recent times but I’m sure the fans will get used to it like they’ll get used to the site of me as champion!”
It's that simple.
”Am I being single minded? Maybe, do I care? No! Even back when I was an Olympic Hopeful I had my eyes on the gold medal, anything less would’ve been a disappointment!” I stated confidently as I flipped some hair over my shoulder. ”I’ve applied that same mindset and lofty standards to my wrestling career and so far? It’s worked out well for me but I won’t be satisfied until I’m holding championship gold again and Paul? You’re just another steppingstone for that goal!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”Blunt? Maybe but it’s the very truth of the matter Paul! And when I win this match my eyes will be set on gold faster than you can say “The Nightmare Angel” Chelsea Skye is the new Level Up Courage Champion!” I added as I stood up and went to leave the room. ”And Paul will have to watch the Skyes above or learn that the Skyes the Limit! See you in the ring Paul!”
I left the studio as the scene fades.
