Entrance Description:
The tron shows a shaky, bloodied hand sliding a quarter into an arcade machine. Trembling, it then reaches to press the ‘Start’ button to begin.
Then the arena goes dark and silent until…
‘WHO IS GONNA SAVE YOU NOW?’
As the lights come up there is a figure kneeling at the entranceway, cloaked in a cape with their arms crossed.
‘I'm the tallest of mountains, I am the roughest of waves
I'm the toughest of terrors, I am the darkest of days
I'm the last one that's standing, Don't try to stand in my way,
Cause I've been up against better, Just take a look at my face’
The figure stands, its head remaining bowed as it begins to slowly march toward the ring.
‘Cause if you're messing with me, I am a dangerous weapon
I am the sharpest of blades; I'll cut you down in a second
Cause I was born in this pain, It only hurts if you let it,
So if you think you can take me, Then you should go and forget it’
Polybius stops halfway down the ramp and swiftly uncrosses their arms, their cape fluttering back slightly. They lift their head for a moment and calmly observes their surroundings.
‘And after all this time, you're back for more
(I won't stop until they know my name)
So I'll take what's mine and start this war
(I'm coming at you like a tidal wave)’
Polybius makes it to the ring and calmly ascends the ring steps, gripping the top rope and vaulting over to land on their feet.
‘When everything you know has come and gone,
(You are at your lowest, I am rising higher)
Only scars remain of who I was
(What I find in the ashes, you lose in the fire!)
When there's no one left to carry on,
(This is an illusion, open up your eyes and...)
This pain (persists),
I can't (resist),
But that's what it takes to be Infinite’
Polybius removes their cape and passes it to the referee, making unsettling eye contact as they do so. The slightly rattled ref hands the cape to a ring attendant.
‘Yeah, so look around you
And tell me what you really see
I never end
And that's the difference in you and me
Cause when your time is up
And everything is falling down,
It's only me and you - who is gonna save you now?’
Polybius goes to their corner of the ring and ascends to seat themselves on the turnbuckle, waiting patiently.

Biography:
POLYBIUS
Wikipedia excerpt-
Polybius is a fictitious 1981 arcade game that is part of an urban legend.[1] The legend describes the game as part of a government-run crowdsourced psychology experiment based in Portland, Oregon. Gameplay supposedly produced intense psychoactive and addictive effects in the player. These few publicly staged arcade machines were said to have been visited periodically by men in black for the purpose of data-mining the machines and analyzing these effects. Allegedly, all of these Polybius arcade machines disappeared from the arcade market.
Other theories claimed the machine was intended to create ‘soldiers’, both boosting and inhibiting certain neurotransmitters to inhibit emotions and increase the body's production of adrenaline and pain-relieving endorphins in battle.
Is this the origin of the masked wrestler known as Polybius?
Maybe.
What is known about Polybius the wrestler is very little and they seem to intentionally be clouded in mystery and obscurity, most of their identity tied to video game urban legends. Only speaking publicly with the assistance of a text-to-speech device, Polybius makes no attempts to convince anyone they have supernatural powers or anything similar and any theatrics they get up to can be explained with special effects or simple trickery. They carry themselves like a living glitch in the system. One broken line of code bringing everything around them down.
