“I’m used to losing. I mean, if you look at my record, it’s 10 wins and 14 losses. At this point, I have to be used to losing. However, though it sucks to lose Larry Tact and EA Blizzard, I know that it’s going to be ok. Brody and I are Multiplayer Champions. We just hit a bump in the road. That happens, and that’s what happened to us. That’s in the past though. The future is ahead of us, and the future is looking bright for us. I’m not done with Tact though. I need to face him one-on-one. That’s when I’ll know if he’s better than me. Until then, I have to be on my toes for our next match. I’m not going to make the same mistakes twice. I’m going to have Brody’s back, and no one is going to distract me this time.”
Off-Camera
Eli Goode sits in the bedroom watching back the tape from the Game Changers’ match. He watches Larry hitting the Starbreaker on Brody. His eyes tense up as Larry places his foot on Brody’s chest. He glares at Larry’s smirk with anger in his eyes. The camera on the tape cuts to Eli in the pile of rubble from the announce table. Eli, in the real world, stands up, walks over to the television, and turns it off. He takes in a deep breath and sighs. He taps his finger on the top of the television and rubs his eyes.
Shortly, Katie walks in and notices Eli standing near the television. She walks close to him and gently places her hand on his shoulder.
“I see you’re sulking alone again.”
“I… I’m not sulking. I’m just… watching tape from the last match.”
“And sulking.”
Eli looks around the room and tried to find a better lie. Katie chuckles and walks away from Eli. She walks over to the bed and sits down. Eli walks to sit next to her. She wraps her hand around his and lays her head on his shoulder.
“Look, I understand that losing to EAB and Larry Tact wasn’t the greatest, but that’s not in the past now. It’s not going to follow you forever.”
“You highly underestimate Tact. He’ll probably ignore it in the recent weeks, but he’ll find a way to bring it back up and find a way to make it fester in an old wound.”
Katie sighs and rubs his arm trying to calm Eli.
“Eli, you need to look past Tact. I understand what he’s done in LevelUp, but you have to realize he’s not the ‘ultimate evil’ you have him out to be.”
“But he shouldn’t be allowed to do what he’s doing. Someone has to stand up to him. Right now, it’s Brody and me. Buster seems to want to help, but I don’t know what he’s planning. I can’t trust him yet. All I know is that I can trust Brody, and Brody alone. Everyone else… I can’t trust them. I wish I could, but I can’t.”
Katie sighs and stands up. She walks towards the door and stares back at him.
“Everyone needs help, Eli. Even if it seems like you can’t trust them, you need to try, and you need to try to put the past behind you.”
Katie walks out of the bedroom leaving Eli alone. He looks at the television and sees his reflection. He takes in a deep breath and turns it back on to rewatch the tape.

“We had a pretty bad loss last time. That is very true, but Brody and I have talked about it. He was beating himself up, but it’s alright to lose. It’s alright to get, for lack of a better term, humbled. After our win, Brody and I thought we were unbeatable. I remember having to calm him down, but the Game Changers decided to take us down a peg. They did just that. It sucks having to say that we lost. I was hoping to humble them, but I couldn’t save Brody. I was helpless to save him. I’m always going to remember getting put through the announce table. I’ll always remember failing Brody. I should’ve been there for him.
That mistake won’t happen this time. No, this time, when we go up against Waluigi World Order, The Wayward Sons are going to have each other’s back. Brody, I know I should've been there for you. I’ll be by your side, and if I notice them double-teaming you, I’m going to make sure that they regret considering that.
Look, WWO, you’re not a threat to us. If you think you are, you’re sadly mistaken. Brody and I were able to hold our own against the Game Changers, two variations of that team, and Don & Donny. Your team is not on our level. No, it’s at the very bottom of the ladder. I know, everyone on your team is thinking this is the chance to finally make a name for yourselves, but this isn’t the time for that. No, this is the moment for Brody and me to regroup. Getting a win off of you is a bonus.
WWO, we’re the Multiplayer Champions for a reason. Was it hard to become champions? Yes, yes it was. Will it be hard to defend the championships in the future? No, it won’t. If you’re one of the teams we have to defend against, I feel bad for you. Look, I know this isn’t a championship match. I’m just using it as a metaphor.
WWO, I hope you’re ready to understand what it’s like to face off against the Wayward Sons. Also, Tact, you got lucky last time. You and EAB cut me off from my partner. I hope you watch this match. This is the revenge that we’ll be seeking when we face you again. Tact, I’m still waiting on that response. I want to face you one-on-one. All you have to do is say yes or no. It’s that simple. Once that’s decided, we can move on to our match. WWO, I’m sorry you’re on our path of revenge. You won’t beat us because we’re simply… That Damn Goode.”
