Part One – Aftermath and Anger
We catch up to Brody Adams as he walks through the halls of the Chesapeake Arena after DOOM had come to an end. A bloodied towel sits draped around his neck with some gauze taped crudely to his forehead. The camera shakes as the cameraman runs to catch up with our bearded hero.
“Mr. Adams,” we hear from outside the camera view and the camera slows to a walking pace slightly to the left and behind Brody. “Can we get a word with you? What is next after your devastating loss to The Game Changers and Mac Bane earlier this evening?”
Brody comes to a stop and turns towards the camera. He looks less than pleased until a slight smirk crosses his face.
“To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, you use that word, but I do not think it means what you think it means. Devastating?”
Brody gestures vaguely back into the arena.
“You call THAT a devastating loss, bro? I didn’t get pinned or submitted. I didn’t lose the Multiplayer Gauntlet. All I lost was a little bit of pride and a little bit of blood.”
He reaches up and tears off the gauze to reveal a small but deep cut. The force of the bandage being pulled off causes some blood to start to trickle out. Brody wipes the bit of blood from his forehead then tosses the towel out of sight as he begins unwrapping the tape from his wrists.
“This,” he says pointing to the cut, “is but a scratch. ‘Devastating loss’ is an overstatement, dude. I doubt you’ve experienced such a thing. Let me…” he pauses before looking directing into the camera, “you know what? Let me stop myself before I say something I regret.”
A frustrated Brody throws the crumpled-up wrist tape to the ground before turning his back to the camera and walking away.

Part Three – What’s in The Box?!
Brody Adams had replayed the conversation after DOOM a million times. Since he had arrived at Level Up Wrestling, he had tried to keep his emotions in check while also keeping negativity away from the surface. He had remained optimistic even through other losses he had suffered such as the Last of Us Gauntlet and the tag match of Wayward Sons vs Larry and EAB. It was obvious from his response the other night that something was bothering him and, to be honest, he wasn’t sure what it was. He was able to bite his tongue, but he also broke a bit. That was a side he wanted to keep hidden. For now.
He needed to shift his focus once again away from tag team wrestling and back towards singles wrestling for at least one night. Brody wasn’t sure what a ‘Skeleton Key’ qualifier was, but he did know that the winner entered a special match where the winner of that match received a shot at the Final Boss championship. This match at EXP 25 would be a unique challenge not only because it was a Fatal Four Way. He would be facing someone he hadn’t faced before in Lord Raab while also squaring off with Donny Mason and ISAAC, two men he defeated to become one half of the Multiplayer Gauntlet holders. It was guaranteed to be a hoss fight as all 4 of these were bonafide superheavyweights. If he let his focus slip for even a moment it would mean the end of the match. And this wasn’t an opportunity that he was going to waste. Brody knew some changes would need to be made.
We join Big Nasty as he sits inside of his truck outside of his home back in Alaska. The front door opens and out walks his roommate Timmy. Brody exits the truck with a small box. The two men meet by the front of the vehicle and bump fists.
“Are you sure about this?” Timmy asks, leaning against the bumper.
“Definitely, bro.” Brody replies as he sets the box down on the hood of the truck. “This match might seem like something small to other people in Level Up but it’s not small to me. I’ve only been here for a short while and I have a chance to fight for their top belt, dude.”
Timmy picks up the box and opens it so he can survey its contents.
“Well, I’m honored to take this off of your hands,” he says with a smile.
Brody returns the smile and says, “It’s time to put the Red Eyed Warrior on hold and show these people how I earned the name of the Blue-Eyed Butcher.”
The two men bump fists again and as Timmy turns to go back into the house, we can see that the box is emblazoned with the words ‘MCC Flight’ and some pot leafs. Brody removes his hat and holds it over his heart like he’s watching the departure of a dear friend. As Timmy closes the front door, Brody hops back into his truck as the scene fades to black.
Part Four – Batten Down the Hatches
“Chicks dig scars, right?” he says to nobody in particular as he examines his newest wound in the mirror of his bathroom. It took a couple staples to close the cut to his forehead. Brody even gives it a little poke just for fun. “In the chaos of WarGames, I’m not even sure what caused this little boo-boo. Chair? Kendo stick? The cage itself? Drake’s fingernails?”
Brody shrugs and steps away from the mirror. He continues talking as he walks outside onto the deck of his home, briefly stopping to put on some sweet Ray-bans with yellow frames.
“I gave that question I was asked after Doom some more thought. Even though it was sort of answered for me by the big bosses. What is next after that ‘devastating’ loss?”
He stretches his arms out a bit then places his hands on the railing as he looks out at the beautiful scenery produced by an Alaskan summer.
“I’ll give you some examples of devastating loss and let’s see if it compares to losing a match with a random team going up against an experienced stable. Here goes: Have you ever stood across the street from a building while you literally watch your hopes and dreams go up in smoke? Right as my friends and I were about to possibly receive a national TV deal, our building burns to the ground with everything inside of it. Have you ever traveled halfway across the country to possibly get a foot in the door only to shred your knee to pieces a week later? Have you been booted from something you helped grow simply because you tried to protect your community from a plague?”
Brody pauses briefly as to let the viewer take in the things he just said. He turns around and leans his lower back against the railing and folds his arms across his chest.
“Probably not, right? I’m sure everyone has experienced loss to some capacity but having someone act like a match with only pride on the line is ‘devastating’ really grated on my nerves, dude. This match probably more to some than others, especially to my boy Eli. He has wanted to get his hands on the Game Changers somethin’ fierce. He has nearly begged and pleaded for a one-on-one match with Larry Tact, yet the big bosses keep ignoring it. Eli might not mind teaming with Paul Freedom again but if I were him, I’d object to it. I get it. We can’t team this week because I have the opportunity to fight for the Final Boss championship. So, he gets to team up with Paul instead. Get it, I suppose.”
He removes his sunglasses and sets them on the railing.
“I guess I sound salty or bitter or something like that. I’m not. I’m grateful, bro. Grateful that I have been given an awesome opportunity even after losing at Doom. I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given at Level Up like a shot at the Multiplayer Gauntlets just four matches after I arrived here. I don’t take those Gauntlets for granted. Or my partner for that matter. Eli deserves a shot at the Final Boss championship as much as I do. I’m sure he’d even fight me for it because that is the type of partnership we have. We’ll punch anyone and everyone in the face to show that we aren’t stepping stones, including each other.”
Brody pops his knuckles, picks up his sunglasses, then walks back inside. He grabs a bottle of water from the fridge then plops down on a comfy looking couch.
“That brings me to EXP 25, my dudes. Donny Mason, Lord Raab, and mother-fuckin ISAAC. I’m not overlooking anyone here but if I had to single anybody out as someone I’m hyper-focused on it would be Lord Raab. ISAAC and I have now squared off on a few occasions. And I took the Multiplayer Gauntlets from Donny and his daddy. Lord Raab is the mystery here. Literally considering he’s wearing a mask. You’re the wildcard here, bro. While I dig your taste in music regarding your entrance theme, that is where my appreciation for you ends, buddy. At the end of the day you’re an obstacle I haven’t climbed over yet and I WILL change that at EX 25. I’m not saying it’ll be easy but I am saying it will be done. When I stand up and have my hand raised, it will be YOU that tasted defeat. It will be YOU who was struck down by the most devastating Lariat in wrestling today. It will be YOU who stares up at the ceiling wondering what the hell just happened. And I can guarantee YOU one thing…”
He sits up and scoots towards the edge of his seat.
“It’s going to be REAAAAAL… Nasty.”
