“It’s always hard to accept lose. Especially when you don’t understand some of the plans of your contemporaries. However, I can accept losing the WarGames match. When I saw what Mac did, it all finally hit me. Yes, I took it personally, and I shouldn’t have. I should’ve trusted Mac in what he was doing. I should’ve looked at things from his perspective. I didn’t, and that was a negative for me. Now, I understand everything. I should apologize to him, and I told him I wanted to apologize to him face-to-face, but he refused to accept it. He told me not to worry about it, and that it was unnecessary. I won’t apologize to him, but there are people in my life that I do need to apologize to. I know one person won’t accept it, but maybe, just maybe, the person I care about most will. I hope she does. I don’t want to be on the outs with her. She’s the thing keeping me grounded. She’s the one helping me. I hope she’ll accept it.”

It has been a rough few weeks for Eli Goode. The last time he saw Katie, he was not in the best mindset. He was trying everyday to understand Mac Bane’s motives, but it turned out to be something that even he could not understand. There was a grander design to it all. Now, all Eli can do is hope for forgiveness. Eli did not know when to approach her so he stayed away from her for a few days. He has finally decided to buck up the courage to speak to her and hopefully fix something that might be broken.
Eli walks up to Katie’s door. He stands there for a few seconds and takes in a few deep breaths. Before he can knock on the door, the door opens and Katie is standing at the door frame. Eli lowers his hand and gives her a weak smile. The confidence of Eli Goode disappears the moment he sees her face. All he sees is the regret that he has. He shouted at her. He made her feel small. How can he come back from that?
“Hi… I…”
“You don’t have to apologize, Eli.”
“I would disagree…”
“Eli, you’re here now. I know that you came here to apologize. Any other person that did what you did would either not show up, or they’d tell me to fuck off. I know how you are though.”
“But, Katie, I shouted at you. I made you feel small. I shouldn’t have done any of that to you. I shouldn’t have…”
“This happens in every relationship. Couples fight. They argue. What matters is making sure they can get through it and not feel resentment towards each other. I know what that anger feels like.”
She gently places her hand on Eli’s cheek. He closes his eyes and he feels her hand on his skin. She rubs her thumb across his cheek gently wiping away a small tear.
“You’re someone that understands remorse. You’ve felt remorse for every bad thing that you’ve done in your life. I’ve seen it. I’ve seen people never feel remorse for the bad things they’ve done but not you. Eli, you have a good heart. You should never feel this much pain.”
Eli takes Katie’s hand and holds it in his. He looks down at it and gently smiles.
“It’s been so long since the pain has left me. I still feel it everyday. I guess that’s why I feel I need to apologize to everyone. Heh, you even sound like Mac right now. I wanted to apologize to him, but he didn’t want one. I…I’m so used to hurting people and needing to apologize to them that… It's my go-to response. I don’t want people to feel hurt.”
“But you shouldn’t have to feel pain for them… You’re allowed to be happy. The people you hurt will eventually forgive you because of who you are; because you have been able to fix the problems you noticed about yourself.”
“Well, one person won’t forgive me, but I burned that bridge a long time ago. It was my fault for all of that, but I hoped that I could fix that one.”
“Even with all the changes you’ve made, you can’t change everyone’s opinion. For those people, they’re just going to be missing out on what makes you a better person, and it’s their fault for ignoring that.”
He gently laughs and rubs Katie’s hand. He takes a deep breath trying to hold back any tears that he might shed. He looks away from her and clears his throat. He looks back to her and smiles. He gently kisses her hand and looks into her eyes.
“Thank you, Katie. For seeing the good in me. Without you, I might’ve been lost a while ago.”
“It’s good to know that I’m your guardian angel. Now hurry in, it’s about to rain.”
“Wait, won’t Will be asking questions?”
“Will’s spending the day with his grandparents so we have the house all to ourselves.”
Katie smiles at Eli and walks away from the door. Eli smiles and looks behind him. He continues to think of the other person he hurt, but Eli knows that that person is too far gone to save. Eli takes a deep breath and walks into the house and closes the door behind him.

“Hello everybody, the last time we met I was going on about how I was shocked about Mac and how my team was going to beat the Game Changers. That unfortunately didn’t happen, but I was given a sense of clarity. Mac wasn’t exclusively with The Game Changers. No, Mac had plans I never knew about, and I wanted to apologize to him. Unfortunately for me, he wouldn’t accept one. He understood where I was coming from so gave me a pass. However, I just wanted to get this out of the way at the top. Mac, I do solemnly apologize for assuming the worst in you. I should’ve trusted you, but I was blinded by confusion. I was blinded by a sense of not knowing, and I shouldn’t have been. I truly apologize.
I… I also apologize for taking it personally. For years, we haven’t spoken and I thought that you’d’ve forgotten about me. I thought reaching out would be a way for me to mend bridges, but I kept on forgetting that you and Amber are very busy people. Haha, so, in the future, if I want to contact you both, I’ll try to be a bit more direct. Maybe we can get food or something. Of course, that’s when both of you are not overseas doing great work.
Now, with that out of the way, it’s time for my next match, and it’s a Multiplayer match. You know, I think I’m finally getting the hang of these Multiplayer matches. I thought that I’d loathe these match types, but I’m the champion of the Multiplayer Division. I have to hone my craft in this division. My partner will not be the other half of the Multiplayer Championships, Brody Adams. No, he’s going to be busy earning a spot in the Skeleton Key match. Brody, I’m rooting for you man. You deserve a spot in that match. No, my partner will be one of my other partners from the WarGames match, Paul Freedom.
Look, I’m gonna be honest, he’s been a very confusing person to me. I can’t fully grasp his deal, to be honest. I understand he’s a rookie, and he’s developed a great fanbase, but I still… Have you ever had a family member that is so out there that you just don’t know what to do? Paul Freedom is that family member. We teamed up together in WarGames, and he was a great partner to have, but I don’t know if we’ll mesh well together. We’ll see. We will definitely see. What I can say is that I know he’s hungry. He wants to achieve greatness in the ring, and I’ll help him do that. The match will not be one-sided. Look, I trust Paul. He helped me alot with this Game Changer business, which I’m not done with just yet. He helped me see things in a different light, and he even helped me put a bit of a pep in my step. In the end, I’m going to trust him to get the job done if I can’t. I believe he can, and I can’t wait to be in his corner.
Now, moving on to our opponents, first up, we have an actual pagan: Samantha Voxx. I’ll be honest, I never expected to meet a pagan. I mean, Samantha, it’s great to meet you. Secondly, I’m looking forward to facing you in the ring. The Cheat Code Ladder Match, you did impressive in that match. I was blown away by what you were able to accomplish in that match. It’s truly a shame that you weren’t able to pick up the victory. It’s also unfortunate that that bad luck is going to be continuing into the next show.
You see, this match is going to be different from the ladder match. There aren’t going to be any death-defying stunts like that match. No, I’m going to keep it grounded if I have to. There will be some high-flying maneuvers, but ultimately, it’s going to be a technical match. Look, I understand you may hate people, but I’m a pretty likable guy. In fact, I’m the most likable guy. I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I’m not going to be afraid to hurt you. Samantha, I think you have a lot of potential in LevelUp, but I don’t think this match is going to be your match to shine. You had that moment. Now it’s time to come back to reality. It’s time to ground yourself. Or I’m going to ground you myself.
Her partner, though, is a different story. Jack Sullivan is a second-generation wrestler. She is also a pretty big girl. I’m not gonna lie, she could probably manhandle me. She has an impressive legacy to live up to as well. I’ve done my research on her father. Her father was an impressive promoter, and he’s probably proud of her for what she’s been able to accomplish. However, I shouldn’t assume anything. I just know that if I had a daughter like her, I’d be proud of her too.
At the same time, I’d want her to be prepared for losing as well. She was able to get a victory at DOOM, but she needs to know what it means to lose. I only say that because that’s what’s going to happen at EXP 25. Look, Jack, you’re an impressive fighter. I watched your match, and you were great. However, you’re still a little green. You needed more time to hone your craft. I’m not saying you’re not ready, but I’m saying you need more time. Because of how green you are, you’re not going to pick up the win. Look, I understand what it means to be a young gun and wanting to prove yourself right out of the gate, but that’s getting halted.
Jack, Samantha, you’ve both proven how great of competitors you are individually, but the question on everyone’s minds will be: can they coexist? Paul and I have proven we can. So the ball’s in your court now. I appreciate what you both can do, and I’m looking forward to competing against you. No, I’m not going to say I hate you both because you both don’t deserve that hate. All I know is that I’ve been in this game for a long time, and you both need to be prepared for a lose. Paul is a rookie as well so maybe that even things up.
Jack, Samantha, I can’t wait to meet you both in the ring, but just know that this won’t be your night. At the end of EXP 25, Paul and I will be walking away the winners. Why, you ask? It’s because we’re simply… That Damn Goode.”
